What’s been seen…

Once about a time, there was a very buggy game that was nowhere near being finished.

During the development of Bulletstorm I’ve (and many others) been grabbing screenshots and videos every now and again when fudged up stuff happens. There’s way too much for me to show everything at once, but I thought I’d share a few of the random screenshots.

If you’d like, I’ll have more people join in providing some “awesome” material. Let me know.

Please, please, pleeeease remember that everything is from the game BEFORE it was finished.

Eeew!

Great balance on that pipe!

Synced dancing!

The typical cartoon death pose.

Gangsta Style

I call him Lightning Face!

Hard to digest.

Group hug!

These “outtakes” are great :D I particularly liked the synchronised dancers :) If you’ve got any good vids, do post.

IF we do? Oh, we do! WE DO! :)

Lightning face looked so creepy, and group hug is hilarious! The dancing one must of been funny for the animators to do or something and looks rather silly!

Would love to see more blunders and maybe even video shorts of the development outtakes. :)

I hate collision bugs. It something I’ve learned to pay close attention to when I do level design. And bad Kismet timing can really bring out the worst in your game! Glad to see you guys got it all fixed up now!!

Why can’t more games just have the blue and white tile optional as a texture? I would love that.

Used to be buggy? Every day I play it, I find a new, annoying glitch. Don’t let your cohorts advance too quickly, or they dissapear all together. Still very fun, but rife with issues all the same.

This is PCF’s idea of telling how much worse the game could be, for the many people getting graphics issues with PC version. Thanks a lot! It’s been a month, and still no word about a patch.

As Higgs said – the game had still many glitches on release and thats something that should not happen if game was properly tested. For example problems with support character not entering the elevator what broke the further falling from waterfall scene. Second example is that every time player enters scene with some chatter between characters weapon get swapped to default machinegun – why? Just holstering actual weapon would be good enough and by the way I just don’t get the purpose of this swap even for the plot.

I love these outtakes…it must have taken some courage to show these, thank you for doing it! I love the game, nice job taking it from what we see here to what I’m enjoying on my PC!

What do you mean “unfinished game”? All the levels in my copy look like the 2nd picture. Can you release a DLC that changes the blue/purple squares green? I’ll pay you 4200 Microsoft Points

I’ve been meaning to get on here and comment for some time now. I really love your game and it’s quiet an achievement! The fact that you created something truly original, engaging, and tremendously fun in such a talent-rich and competitive industry is somewhat staggering to me and every time I play BS I send a bit of gratitude your way. Thanks for the AWESOME game that is Bulletstorm and for sharing such great insights on the blog :-)
