We had a great feature in the game once. I absolutely loved it.
Laughing porcelain Clowns.
Hidden in the levels were big, creepy looking clowns that continually uttered an evil monotone laughter (to tell you when you were close). Once shot, it was destroyed like the frail porcelain figure it was and you’d found one of many collectibles.
I hate clowns. Even without them looking more fudged up than in real life and even without the menacing laugh, I don’t like clowns. That’s why it felt great shooting them!
However, how do you justify them being there? In Bulletstorm today you can find things like the Newsbots and swarms of electrical bugs. They fit right in into the world and still give you the “hide and seek”-challenge like the clowns did. The Newsbots make sense because they are like a robot version of Newsstands that shout out the latest headlines. Not only do they act as a collectible; they also provide the player with information about the world.
One thing that was an unrivaled experience though was if you managed to leash a special kind of clown (they had several different appearances) that had a tap between his legs, looking much like his private parts were made out of metal and he flies towards you, laughing, closing into to your face with his… tap. That was horrifying and something I’ll never forget. Unfortunately.
You’ve probably heard of the expression to kill your darlings. It basically means that you sometimes have to dare to remove things that are awesome, just because they don’t contribute to, or even harm, the grand picture.
The clowns were removed.
I miss the clowns, but Bulletstorm is a better game without them.

Oh my gosh, that would have been terrifying…but utterly hilarious. I’m deffinetly glad that they didn’t make the game, but I think the idea was great. Maybe they will hold more relevance in Bulletstorm 2???? ^_^
I really wanted to hear this before ! Why didnt you want to let the clown’s live ! So that we can shis kebab em all ! I want to see those clowns in Bulletstorm 2 and not only as collectables but also like enemies i really do not like clowns and then i can kill them !
do i need to say more ???
Kinda glad for that i hate clowns so they would have freaked me out, especialy the first one… happy face now…
Clowns would’ve been redundant anyway, the skulls already look like juggalos to me.
I’m a juggalo so i love this!
Five words: SEQUEL SET ON CIRCUS PLANET!!!
Kinda sad they didn’t make it
. I hate clowns and it would have been great to blow them to bits with the flail or bouncer.
it’s obvious the skulls raided the planet so the clowns could’ve come from there along with traps perhaps…
